KERRY: (i) What an evening in Connolly Park! The whole Kerry team, including 9 Tralee players (4 of them proud Rockmen), arrived with the ‘Sam Maguire.’ How nice to welcome home our own Joe O’Connor, Jack Ó Sé, Greg Horan and Dylan Ó Cathasaigh. Everybody was delighted when Captain Joe spoke! Jack O’Connor also addressed the assembly and praised several Rock leaders, including Liam and Shane Lynch, Wayne Quillinan, Ger O’Keeffe agus an ‘Star’ féin. Jack used the word ‘ablach’ to describe Kieran Donaghy; that word has several meanings but ‘hulk’ is the most appropriate one! (ii) Mór-chomhbhrón le hAoife Ní Dhuilleáin, le Dara Ó Lúing (agus a chomhbhádóirí, Déaglán Ó Cuill agus Gearóidín Ní Shé) agus le Cailíní Peile Chiarraí, nár éirigh leo i gCraobhchluiche na hÉireann i bPeil Ghaelach na mBan i gcoinne na Mí Dé Domhnaigh seo caite. We look forward with confidence to 2023.
