Buses will depart at 11.15am. Only €2 an duine but advance booking is necessary! Great vocal support will be required to help our lads in their efforts to stay in the senior ranks for 2023 ach…is féidir linn…! An Charraig Abú!

PEIL FAOI 7: (i) We welcomed Ardfert to Caherslee on Sunday last for a series of great games. Excellent football was played and all had a good time! Well done, boys! (ii) The U7 finals will take place in CONNOLLY PARK on Sunday next at the earlier time of 10am. We will have our traditional parade, our presentation of medals and…yes….treats for all! All true Rock fans will then head to Killarney support Wayne’s Seniors (1.30pm) v Kenmare Shamrocks. An exciting day for The Rock!

PEIL FAOI 9: (i) The trip to the St Finbarr Club in Togher, Cork, took place on Saturday last and was a great success. We played for the Canty Cup and came home with the Shield spoils following great games v Nemo Rangers, Macroom and Youghal. A good achievement!

Everybody enjoyed the outing, the football and the fun. And, since our trip to Corcaigh cois Laoi, The ‘Barrs have become the senior hurling champions of Cork. (ii) The U9 end-of-year finals will take place in Connolly Park on Sunday next at the earlier time of 10am.

The winning of the Bracker Regan, Paddy Drummond and Jimmy Barry Cups will be a big part of the morning’s excitement. We will have our usual parade, our medals and cups will be presented and…gan dabht….treats will be ready for all! Many excited Rock fans will then head to Killarney to support our seniors (1.30pm) v Kenmare. An exciting day for The Rock!

PEIL FAOI 11: The U11 football finals will take place in Connolly Park on Sunday next at the earlier hour of 10am. We will have an pharáid, bronnadh na mbonn agus na gcorn and, of course, treats for all! All followers of Wayne’s Warriors will then head to Killarney to support our seniors (1.30pm) v Kenmare. TG4 – ‘CLUB’: ‘Well done’ to our young rising stars who appeared on ‘CLUB’ on TG4. Our peileadóirí showed their brilliant football skills and gave a great account of themselves agus iad ag labhairt na teanga náisiúnta! Everybody ar an gCarraig was/is proud of their achievements! Maith sibh, a bhuachaillí is a chailíní! Star of the Skills was a young Hobbert, grandnephew of the late James Hobbert.

PEIL FAOI 13: We gave a big Rock welcome to the footballers of Carraig Uí Leighin (Carrigaline) on Saturday last and then give them a good few lessons in the art of Gaelic football! Carraig Uí Leighin v Carraig Thrá Lí was an exciting U13 inter-club gathering!

PEIL FAOI 15: As the Churchill U15s were unable to fulfil our Town League fixture on Saturday last, they conceded the game to us. We now await the winners of the Ballymac v John Mitchel Club semi-final. Time, date and venue to be confirmed. This football championship is organised by the Tralee and St Brendan GAA Boards and is sponsored by Suits Select.

THE ALL-STARS: Our All-Stars Sunday morning sessions in Connolly Park have come to an end for 2022. Well done, lads! You were great throughout the season. Wonderful spirit and enthusiasm was shown by all. We’ll have a get-together later…..an All-Star party! Looking forward to it! Thanks to all workers who kept the show on the road….coaches, organisers, parents, friends, helpers!

COLÁISTÍ: (i) Mercy Mounthawk will meet Coláiste Bhréanainn in the O’Sullivan Cup (Coláistí Chiarraí) competition final. Best wishes to The Rock boys on the (thus far…!) successful and determined Mounthawk panel. Imreofar an cluiche ceannais ar an 26ú October.

(ii) The U19 and U16 cispheileadóirí of Gaelcholáiste made the short trek to an Fhaiche early Friday morning to face off against their energetic CBS rivals. Tactical lessons aplenty had been learned from the previous week’s St Pat’s tie agus na taispeántais fhuinniúla a bhí ann from senior and Under 16 squads. The Green had the run of their courts in the end, however, and came to the good on the hardwood in both matches. ‘Well done’ to The Green.

It was another strong showing from the Gaelcholáiste and their Rock stars all the same; táid ag bailiú nirt de réir mar a théann na seachtainí ar aghaidh and it’s hoped that next week’s massive derby against Mounthawk will be another slick showing. Buachaillí an Ghaelcholáiste are making a name for themselves in the Munster Leagues. Téanam oraibh, a ghaiscígh! (D.Ó Loingsigh).

(iii) U19C (Peil): The footballers of the Gaelcholáiste gave a good account of themselves ar an gCéadaoin (19ú) seo v Cnoc Síon.
