Blennerville got off to a great start in trying conditions scoring 1-01 with out reply in the first 5 minutes. After this Ballymac got to grips in the middle of the field and kicked 1-03 with out reply. Mossy Shannahan scoring Ballymac goal following good work from Aiden Breen.

Once again the momentum seamed to swing with Blennerville kicking two points by K. Hurley from frees. Blennerville could have pushed on during this spell but for a number of bad wide’s.

Just before half time Ballymac surged ahead to go in at half time on a score of 1-05 to 1-03 thanks to two points from the boot of Aiden Breen.

Blennerville started the second half with purpose but again kicked a number of wide’s and only managed two pointed frees from the boot of K. Hurley.

With the Ballymac defence under constant pressure and finding it hard to break out of there own half Aiden Breen and Vincent Horan combined well to run the ball forward before Luke Sweeney scored Ballymac’s second goal.

The visitors responded well with points from substitutes D. Kerins and E. Sayers. But Ballymac ensured victory by finishing the game with two points of their own from Mossy Shannahan and P. Mc Carthy.

The game finished with a 2-07 to 1-07 win for Ballymacelligott.

MINOR TEAM
Our minor team continue their Co. League campaign when they travel to North Kerry to take on Ballylongford/Asdee in their third game of the League.  With a win and a loss in their first two games, another win is imperative for qualification for a semi final spot.

SCOR
The journey of our Senior Scor set dancing team which started in Kielduff Community Centre and continued onto Brosna and Cappamore, came to an end in Ovens Co. Cork on Saturday evening last where an excellent Boherbue set from Co. Cork took home the Munster title.

Certainly Maria, Maura, Carmel, Colette, Fintan, David, Chris, Tom and coach Michael can be proud of their achievements of a Co. title and reaching a Munster final.  This brings the curtain down on Scor activities for the season.  Great credit is due to Scor Officer Anthony Curran and his wife Nora for their huge amount of time they have invested in Scor in the past few months.

FIELD DEVELOPMENT
Many thanks to the volunteers who braved the elements to erect goal posts on the new Club field on Saturday last.  The first game on this field is now only a  matter of weeks away.  The Club are running a major fund raising event on the Saturday of the May bank holiday weekend.  Full details of this in next weeks notes and in other publications.

FAOI 12
With the start of U12 County League just two weeks away the lads are back training in preparation for the season ahead. We have been placed in Div 3 along with Ardfert, Spa, Fossa & Castleisland Desmonds. We host Austin Stacks at home on this Tuesday evening & are away to Dr.Crokes on Thursday evening. These two games will give us a stern test
and a good opportunity to see how the lads are moving.

FAOI 12 CAILINI
The under 12 girls continued on their winning ways with a win over neighbours Castleisland Desmond’s on Saturday morning last in Castleisland to make it four wins out of four in Division 2 of the North Kerry League. Wet and windy conditions didn’t make it easy for both teams but our girls made light of the conditions to rack up a fine score of 5-13 to Desmond’s 2-5.

Ballymac dominated midfield with Catriona Sommers excelling throughout ending with 2-7 to her name. Emily  O Donoghue also gave a powerful performance throughout. In defence Roisin Long controlled all that came her way and setup many attacks with her long clearances.

In general all defenders had a good game. Our attack had a plentiful supply of possession and made it count with Aoife Galvin scoring two goals in the second half to finish the game as a contest. The girls have two games remaining in the league ,away against Na Gaeil and at home against Beale/Ballyduff.

Both games will be played in the next week. Team; Cora Savage,Sophie O Donoghue,Roisin Long,Ellie Linehan,Alyssa Leen,Sinead McKeown,Cathy Palmer,Emily O Donoghue, Cathernia Sommers,Ciara Palmer,Grainne Galvin,Kate O Connor,Emma Leen,Aoife Galvin,Laura O Shea.
