SIOBHAN COTTER BLITZ
The Siobhan Cotter Memorial Blitz took place on Sunday the 11th of October in Churchill. The blitz saw our under 7, 8, 9, and 10 panels playing on the day. Our opponents on the day were Churchill, Ardfert, and Austin Stacks.
Our U10’s began with a superb win over Austin Stacks however we went down to a better Churchill team in our second game. In our final group game against Ardfert our lads put in another sterling performance to record a brilliant victory. Panel : T Palmer, J O Connor, M Culloty, A Horgan, P Heffernan, D Galvin, S Rice, N Collins, M Prendergast, R Lowe, E O Brien, J Orgonbagor.
Our U 9’s had three tough games coming up short against Austin Stacks and Churchill but we saved our best football until last with an excellent victory over Ardfert. Panel : C Martin, S Gilroy, W O Donoghue, A Riordan, J Burke, M Savage, K Lynch, J Slattery, D Lucid, C White, T Leen, T Long.
A great days football was enjoyed by our under 7 & 8 footballers . Best on the day were Michael Quirke, Paddy Lucid, Padraig Reidy, Mairtin Mc Kivergan, Matthew Rodgers, and Luke Griffin.
At the end of the tournament we were level on points with Austin Stacks which necessitated a play off which saw a joint U8 and U9 team from both clubs play each other. The town side proved stronger in this game and this result saw Austin Stack receive the Siobhan Cotter Cup. Many thanks to the Churchill Club for their invitation to the Blitz and the hospitality extended to us on the day.

CAILINI FAOI 15
Ballymac 2 – 5 Beaufort 2 – 3
Our U15 team played in the last competition of the year Sat evening last and secured a final spot . This was a good display from the team who have actually played U16 this year despite all being underage next year again and it was a win that was deserved .
Goals in either half from Aine Rice and Mary Healy helped us on our way , both teams defenses were quite strong on the night . We led at half time by 1- 2 to 0-2 our 2 points coming from Rachel Godley and Aine Rice . We pulled away to lead by 2-5 to 0-2 with 10mins remaining with points from Micheala Murphy , Mary Healy and Elle Mc Elligott .
2 late goals for Beaufort and a point from a free finished the scoring .
We await the winners of Spa/Abbeydorney .

CAILINI FAOI 14
Following the recent Co League win we’ve had a couple of weeks off prior to the beginning of the North Kerry . Having played and defeated Ballyduff and Na Gaeil at home in the first 2 games , we’d 2 games this week to finish off our year . Both games produced wonderful high scoring games in which we came out the right side of to cap off a fabulous year for this group of girls . We have completed the double as the girls have annexed the North Kerry League Div 2 title .
Ballymac 2-18 Listowel 4-7
Sunday 4th we travelled to Listowel to play the locals in round 4 .
This was a cracker with both teams going for the jugular . Despite playing very well in the first half we went in at half time on level terms . We seemed to get punished heavily for small mistakes made . However in the 2nd half our girls eliminated those mistakes and our superior fitness was telling . Robin was very good in goals , Niamh had a storming 2nd half and along with Eve and Maeve put up the shutters at the back .
Aisling and Therese played very well against 2 very good opponents , our forwards were exceptional on the night Elle Mc Elligott , Catriona Sommers and Cora Savage did most of the damage on the scoreboard but the half forward line of Aine and Cait Rice and Lisa Curran’s high workrate ensured good supply of ball and quality passing . Sinead suffered a hand injury and we wish her a speedy recovery
Team & scorers

Ballymac 5-9 John Mitchels 3-9
Thursday 8th Oct we made the short trip to neighbours John Mitchels
Another shootout and we again go home by 2 goals to clinch the North Kerry Div 2 title . John Mitchels played very well with Eva Buckley and Rachel Kilgallon causing us all sort of problems in the first half with their strong running and accurate kicking .
Elle Mc Elligott kicked 2-3 in this period and Catriona Sommers got 1-1 . We regrouped at halftime , made a few substitutions and positional changes and the applied themselves much better in the 2nd half . Goals from Catriona Sommers and Cora Savage were important but the main difference on the night were 3 very good saves from Robyn . On each occasion she was brave and stood big to deny the Mitchels forward . Aisling and Therese came good in the 2nd half too as did Roisin Long , Maeve O Sullivan & Caoimhe Carroll . Subs Cora Savage , Emily O Donoghue , Cathy Palmer , Elle Linehan and Jade Riordan all contributed on the night . We celebrated Cait Rice’s 13th birthday afterwards who also Captain’d the team on the night .

These are a special bunch of young ladies , a pleasure to coach & committed to the club . They’re fantastic ambassadors for the club too , each game they turn out impeccably with matching shorts and togs and their conduct on the field is first class too . What they achieved this year is well deserved and they definitely reflect the saying ‘ the more I work and practice , the luckier I get ”
Well done again girls and thanks to parents and supporters for encouragement and support during the year 2015 .

However, his loss will be greatest felt by his wife Marion and daughter Aisling. All at Ballymac GAA Club extend their deepest sympathy to his family.
