STRICTLY LOVE DANCING

Ballymac GAA Clubs inaugural Strictly Love Dancing event took place on Saturday evening last at Ballygarry House Hotel.  The event was a resounding success as our dancers provided some wonderful entertainment for the appreciative crowd present many of whom travelled long distances to attend.

A number of Club members put in a huge amount of work on the night and in the lead up to the event.  A special mention must be made for event co-ordinator OonaghO Rahilly who left no stone unturned to ensure all ran smoothly on the night.

Our Choreographer Honor Hurley must get enormous credit for the various dance routines she created for our couples which received a great reaction from an appreciative audience.  Our dance couple sponsors ACME Blinds, The Halfway Bar, Castlemeats Castleisland, Gortatlea Mart, The Blasket Bar, Cassidys Restaurant, Sean Ogs Bar, Lee Strand, O Brennan National School, The Earl of Desmond Hotel and IFAC Accountants must also be thanked for their contributions.

Our judges Josephine Fearns, Anne O Donnell, Tim Moynihan and Padraig McGillycuddy had the onerous task of analysing each couple.  MC Andrew Morrisey’s professionalism added greatly to the nights entertainment.  The programme which was designed by Eamon Moriarty received many favourable comments from those present on the night.

Last but not least to our 24 dancers who since they first came together on the 10th November last have given a huge commitment to ensuring that their dance routines would entertain on the night.  While all 12 couples were winners in their own right with their excellent performances congratulations to overall winners Kayrena Bolger and Denis Cronin.  Hopefully all enjoyed their preparation for and participation in the event.  Roll on Strictly 2017.
