THE gloves and blindfolds will be on in The Ashe Hotel on Saturday week when a ‘White Collar’ boxing night will take place in aid of Recovery Haven.

Organised by St Margaret’s Boxing Club, the event will see members taking to the ring with two of the bouts being contested blindfolded on November 19.

There will be 14 fights in all on the night said Patricia Glavin from the club.

“Everyone’s eager to take part and it should be a brilliant night. Two fights are blindfolded which should be fun,” said Patricia.

She said the club chose Recovery Haven as the beneficiary of the fundraiser because of the amazing support they give to cancer patients and that they constantly need funding to provide their services.

Maureen O’Brien of Recovery Haven thanked the club for organising the event and said all fundraisers are greatly welcomed to support the service.

The doors open at 7pm with the first bout starting around 8pm. Tickets at €15, which are already selling well thus far, will NOT be sold on the door on the night and can only be bought from members of St Margaret’s Boxing Club or by calling Recovery Haven on 066-7192122.
