THE Criminal Assets Bureau (CAB) has taken possession of a house, nine luxury cars, jewellery, and more than €300,000 in cash in Killarney this morning as part of ‘Operation Tarmac’.
It follows a five-year investigation into an organised crime group based in the town with the gang described in High Court documents as being involved in bogus home improvement work in Ireland, the UK, and across Europe.
The bureau got a High Court order on Monday for possession of the house and this morning detectives from CAB seized it along with, over €300,000 in cash, BMW, Audi and Mercedes cars and a dozen Rolex, Cartier, and Dolce & Gabanna jewellery and watches.
