THE Kerry Cancer Support Group held its fourth annual ‘Big Bus BBQ’ in Ballygarry House Hotel on Sunday evening and it proved to be another great success with well over 200 people in attendance.
The €35 a head fundraiser is held in aid of the bus that runs from Kerry to Cork to provide treatment for people with cancer.
“Over 230 came which was on par with last year so we’re very happy with the turnout,” said Sean Prendergast of the Kerry Cancer Support Group.
“The word is out there that our BBQ is on this time of year and it’s a great cause so all the bands and DJs provided their services free of charge which is outstanding,” Sean said.
A champagne reception was followed by a sumptuous barbecue while the acts that performed were the Jazz Cats, Heart and Soul and DJ Leo Byrne.
The newly crowned Kerry Rose Mary Hickey from Rathmore was there to judge the best dressed lady competition and there was plenty of glamour on display from the many ladies present as you can see below.
