KERRY Sinn Féin elected a new officer board at the AGM of it’s Comhairle Ceantair in Tralee last Thursday evening.
Former Tralee town councillor Cathal Foley was selected to replace outgoing chairperson Ristéard Ó Fuaráin.
Robert Brosnan from Lispole was elected as Vice-Chairperson. Outgoing secretary Yvonne Sugrue from Ballybunion was returned. The party also selected a new PRO, Treasurers, Finance Officer & Equality Officer.
Cathal Foley told the meeting that the party had a very successful 2014 with five out six of the parties candidates being elected to Kerry County Council and playing a big role in elected Liadh Ní Riada to the European Parliament.
He also said the party was seeing an influx of new members particularly from the South Kerry area and this bodes well for the upcoming general election which sees Kerry being reduced to a single 5 seat constituency.
He said the party was seeking to nearly double it’s membership between now and 2020.
