CBS Boys All Set For All-Ireland Cross Country Championships

CBS The Green athletes taking part in the All Ireland Cross Country Championships this weekend in Santry.

The school’s minor boys’ team consisting of Maurice Lenihan, Sean Og Brosnan, Eoin O’Flaherty, Keelan Best, Hugh Lenihan, David Lucid, Ryan Houlihan and Liam Og O’Connor recently won gold in the Munster team event and are hoping to run the race of their lives on Saturday.

Maurice Lenihan and Jack O’Donoghue (intermediate) placed 11th and 13th in their respective races at Munster level earning them both an automatic individual qualification into the All Irelands.

“The boys  have trained very hard over the last couple of weeks and we at CBS, The Green  are all very proud of how far they have come,” said coach Helen Kelliher.

“To reach this stage in the Cross Country competition is a huge achievement in itself and we know they will give it their best shot on the day. A huge thanks to Casey Stephenson Accountants, David Lucid Insurances and O’ Donoghue’s Pharmacy  for kitting out the boys for this special occasion.
