WITH the huge success of the Dingle Food Festival and the Listowel Food Fair over the past number of years, it only makes sense that Tralee should have its own cuisine celebration.
Well Tralee Chamber Alliance is in the process of organising the town’s first food festival with the aim of showcasing the town as a true gourmet paradise over the third weekend of September, 18-20 (or as it is known to Kerry GAA fans, ‘All-Ireland Final Weekend’).
The festival will include an artisan food market on Saturday, September 19 in the Square with Cooking Demonstrations from local chefs also there on the day.
A highlight of the Dingle festival is its taste trail and Tralee will have one of its own at different eateries in the town at €2 per taste/tapas.
People who like their beer (and word has it there’s one or two of you out there) will be catered for with a Craft Beer Trail among the fine selection of pubs.
Special set dinner menu options will be made available over the weekend offered at a competitive price from a selection of restaurants showcasing the best the town’s many eateries have to offer and to round things off, there’ll be a set brunch menu option solely for Sunday morning.
There’s also a Farmers Market and if any artisan food producers would like to take part in the festival click here to see how to download the application form.
