TRALEE Rugby Club has launched a ‘Lucky Minute’ fundraiser this weekend to help with their juveniles section.

They are inviting all club members, supporters and their families, and indeed people in the wider community to support the fundraiser, as it is this year’s only source of funding for the juveniles activities.

COVID has deprived the club of its usual funding resources for the year, mainly through the summer tag competition and the club bar. They are looking for support to keep the Rugby Club grounds open and keep rugby alive in Tralee.

Tickets for the fundraiser cost €10 each. Each ticket is a ‘Lucky Minute’ with the winner receiving a cash prize of €1,000.

There are also prizes of €200 each for the minute either side of the winner and 3 subsequent draws with each minute winning €100.

The draw takes place on New Year’s Eve, with the winners being announced across their social media pages.  Members of Tralee Rugby Club Committee feel these would be a great gift perhaps for a teacher or Secret Santa. (see sample ticket below)…

Tickets are limited, so please call in to Der O’Sullivan’s, Hugh Cullotys or That’s Perfect on The Mall to purchase. There is also a facility to purchase remotely by phoning 087 2512940.

Their juveniles section have continued to train under level 5 thanks to all the coaches and club officials who have been able to provide a very safe environment in these challenging times.

Extra equipment has been purchased in line with COVID precautions and protocols which adds a cost to the running of the club. Training for juveniles ranging from under 6 through to under 18’s continues every weekend in Tralee Rugby Club.  Please see their Facebook page for details.
