Tralee Mountaineering Club members  Margaret Twomey, Joan O Regan, Dan Devane, Helen Fitzgibbon, Joan Brosnan and Fiona Forde in Kenya last October.

A CONCERT will take place next month in Siamsa Tire as a fundraiser for the Brighter Communities Worldwide.

It’s a cause close to the heart of a number of local people, as six members of the Tralee Mountaineering Club travelled to Kenya in October 2018 with the charity on a two week volunteer project to help a sustainable tourism project.

The Tralee group of Margaret Twomey, Joan O’Regan, Dan Devane, Helen Fitzgibbon, Joan Brosnan and Fiona Forde shared their skills and experience to help develop walking routes, train guides and porters in navigation and they facilitated courses in remote emergency care and lifeskills and helped install smokeless cooking stoves to help create healthy homesteads.
