BAILE Mhuire Day Centre for Older Persons in Tralee needs a new bus, it’s going to cost €50,000 and the money will mostly come from fundraising events such as a special concert at The Rose Hotel at 8pm on Sunday, May 12.

A daughter of one of the clients at Baile Mhuire was so appreciative of the care and attention her mother has received, she has decided to organise the event entitled “With A Little Help From My Friends” to set the ball-rolling on raising funds to purchase the new bus.

The Chairman of the Board at Baile Mhuire, Paddy Garvey, said: “We have received so much positive support from the local community and the HSE to fund the provision of various services, including the new Stroke Day Service.  Our bus is crucial in allowing us to deliver the best possible service, but it’s very old and we need a new one for the comfort of our clients.  We are confident that we’ll be successful in sourcing a new bus thanks to a ‘little help from our friends’.”
