Councillors Off To Brussels For Meetings At European Parliament

A DELEGATION from Kerry County Council will attend a series of meetings at the European Parliament in Brussels next week to engage with Ireland South MEPs and EU officials on matters of interest to Kerry.

The focus of the visit is on policy and recent developments at European level in relation to economic, enterprise and rural development. The meetings take place on Wednesday and Thursday of next week.

The delegation will include Tralee Municipal District’s Cllr Jim Finucane, Cllr. Pat McCarthy, Cllr. Tom McEllistrim, Cllr. Graham Spring. Other councillors travelling are Cllr. Patrick Connor-Scarteen, Cllr. Niall Kelleher, Cllr. John Lucid, Cllr. Norma Moriarty and Cllr. Michael O’Shea

Chief Executive of KCC Ms. Moira Murrell, Mr. Martin O’Donoghue, Director of Services for Housing and Corporate Services and Mr. Michael Scannell, Director of Services for Economic and Community Development will also attend.

While there, the delegation will meet a number of MEPs and policy officers in the areas of tourism, enterprise and rural development.
