THERE will be no charges against the culprits who stole and damaged the clock at Dick Mack’s during the weekend.
The clock which dates back to the 1800s was taken on Saturday night by men on a stag night from the famous Dingle pub.
The Dick Mack’s Facebook page posted a photo of Ron and Oliver McDonnell of the pub with the clock this afternoon.
“Great news everyone! The clock has been returned,” read the post. “It was returned by a local who found it abandoned in the back of Currans Yard. The culprits have since been in touch, have apologised and will pay for the damage to the clock so we will draw a line under the whole fiasco!” it continued.
The pub said the online reaction was “insane” and it was the factor in forcing the culprits to come forward. They also said they’ll be raising a few glasses to its return in the bar tonight.
