TRALEE  businesswomen, Doireann Barrett, owner of the  ‘Gluten Free Kitchen’ has been invited by the EU Commission to be a guest speaker at  a conference in Potsdam, Germany this week.

She will be one of the  guest speakers at the Tradeit Bakery and Brokerage Convention in Potsdam, Berlin, to discuss their business and the rise in Coeliac Disease and Gluten Free Awareness.

The convention takes place this Thursday and Friday. Doireann will speak in front of delegates from 15 European Countries. This represents a a huge achievement for the local business which is Ireland’s only dedicated gluten and wheat-free restaurant with in-house bakery.

After years of researching her symptoms with no success, Doireann, was diagnosed with Coeliac Disease in 2004. Once diagnosed, she saw a gap in the market and developed a niche business concept.

In 2011 The Gluten Free Kitchen Company Bakery was established and has already won awards and accreditation for the café and bakery .
