The Ballyheigue native has chosen to lend his support to the charity having been hugely impressed with the vital support services offered to cancer patients and their families across Kerry, north Cork and west Limerick.

Renowned for his selfless support of local and national charities, Don says he is humbled to accept the role at Recovery Haven – a charity which is very close to his heart and for which he has hosted fundraising events in the past.

“It is a great honour to become a Patron of Recovery Haven Kerry. I was truly humbled to have been approached for the position before we left New York, which I wholeheartedly accepted,” Don said.

“Recovery Haven Kerry is a charity with which Pascal and I have great love for and deep ties to. I am so proud to now be officially affiliated with this extraordinary team and support their mission to provide complementary care to the people of Kerry who are currently battling cancer, as well as those in recovery, and their families and carers, in the form of much needed psychological, emotional, educational and practical support. I eagerly look forward to helping Recovery Haven Kerry achieve their goals and shining a bright spotlight on this remarkable charity.”

Chairperson of Recovery Haven Kerry, Tim McSwiney, said that all involved at the charity are truly honoured that Don accepted the invitation to become a Patron- joining fellow Patron, Dick Spring, Ambassador, Dara Ó Cinnéide, and Honorary President, Marian Barnes in a key supportive role.

“Don has always been a huge supporter of Recovery Haven and given the distinguished career he has had, and the incredible contribution he has made, both here and around the world, we are truly honoured that he has agreed to take up the role of Patron and to lend his name and incredible influence to help promote our work,” Tim said.
