A FIRE caused extensive damage to a building on the Mitchels Road last night.
Emergency services were called to the area in the early hours of Thursday and the fire service extinguished the blaze.
However, the fire gutted the building — which was the former Lockes Shop many years ago. The building was vacant and there were no injuries.
The area outside the building was still cordoned off this morning and Gardaí say investigations are ongoing as to what caused the fire.
