If your brain hasn’t fully recovered from the week of work and you don’t fancy putting through the paces of a quiz, then get yourself on down to Siamsa Tíre on Friday night instead.
The theatre will be showing a performance of ‘Catalpa’ at 8pm with the story being described on the website as “The story of the daring 1875 Whale Ship rescue of six Irish prisoners from Fremantle penal colony in Australia – a tale of heroes and visionaries, political intrigue and personal loyalty, with hot romance, mixed-up rebels and battles at sea.”
Tickets will be €13/€16.
SATURDAY
‘Kerry Masters Basketball’ will take place on Saturday and Sunday and it promises to be a very exciting affair!
The Masters phenomenon involves Men (over40) and ladies (over40) getting teams together, and playing in tournaments in different venues around the country. A lot of these players would have played on National League teams in late 80s/90s, and would have visited Tralee playing against such teams as Lee Strand and Garvey’s Tigers.
The tournament will be taking place in Moyderwell school gym, home to St Brendans Basketball Club from 10am, and games will continue throughout the day until 5pm.
The tournament is being set up with money going to two very strong local charities in Tralee in Recovery Haven Cancer Support House and The Donal Walsh Live Life Foundation.

4. Pet Adoption Day
KLAWS Adoption & Discounted Micro-Chipping Event will be taking taking place in Petmania Tralee on Saturday February 21st from 1-4pm (micro-chipping 2-4pm).
Please lend your support to this worthy charity who are helping to save and protect the lives of so many abandoned animals!

To finish up the wild weekend, there will be ‘An Evening With Johnny McEvoy’ taking place at Ballyroe Heights Hotel that promises to be an evening full of nostalgia of songs and stories.
