The 20-year-old from Castleisland, who was previously on the books at Cork City, was delighted to sign a new deal at Forest Green.

“I’m extremely happy and proud to sign a new contract for next season and I’m thankful to the gaffer, Chairman and the club for showing faith in me,” said Paul White on the Forest Green website.

“I love playing for the club, love living in the area and love the atmosphere in the dressing room with all the lads, so once there was an offer, signing a new contract was a no brainer for me,” he said.

“I’m extremely confident in my abilities and feel that I’m close enough to being ready to impact the first team here in the way that I want.”

This season, Forest Green Rovers, finished fifth in the Conference Premier league which booked them a play-off spot for promotion to League Two. Unfortunately they fell short to Bristol Rovers, losing 3-0 on aggregate.
