GARDAÍ are investigating an assault at a Rock Street premises after which a man had to receive hospital treatment.

The incident occurred at around 2am this morning. Two men entered the house in Upper Rock Street, opposite St Brendan’s Church.

An iron bar was used in the attack. The man was taken to hospital, but his injuries are not thought to be serious.

Garda forensics were at the house for much of Wednesday morning.
