GARDAÍ have seized €40,000 of cannabis (pending analysis) and arrested a man in his 30s in Ballyroe as part of an on-going intelligence led operation targeting the illegal sale and supply of controlled drugs in the Kerry area.
The man arrested is expected to appear before a sitting of Tralee District Court this afternoon (Wednesday) charged in connection with this investigation.
Gardai assisted by the Garda Dog Unit carried out a planned search of a house in Ballyroe, Tralee this morning.
During the course of the search cannabis herb with an estimated street value of up to €40,000 (pending analysis), a quantity of suspected amphetamine, a stun gun and drug paraphernalia were located.
A male in his 30’s was arrested at the scene and is currently detained under the provisions of Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996 at Tralee Garda Station.
