A FUNDRAISING campaign has been set up to help a recently widowed Kerry man and his five children in their battle to keep their home from being repossessed.

A campaign was set up by friends of Ballybunion man Ray Flavin, who lost his wife Trish died earlier this year, to help him fight the banks in court and pay off whatever arrears are determined to be due after an examination of his accounts.

Ray’s story came to national attention this week in an article by The Journal.ie after he appeared in court in Dublin representing himself.

Ray was on a tracker mortgage and was overcharged for years by his bank, who are now trying to repossess his home after he went into arrears. You can read the full story on The Journal.ie website by clicking here

By 12.30pm on Thursday, the gofundme page had reached over €20,000 in two days and rising fast. You can contribute to the fund by clicking here
