THE Food Friday pageant on The Passion of Christ will again be staged in the Church of St John the Baptist, Castle St, Tralee, after a three-year enforced COVID break.

Almost 40 people, aged from 10 years to over 70, will participate in this year’s performance and the church choir, under the direction of Mike O’Shea, will be a vital part of the ceremony.

The pageant cast will include 10 secondary school pupils as well as some 3rd level students and it will be part of the traditional Good Friday Ceremony that will commence at 3pm on April 15.

The Pageant began over 20 years ago under the direction of Fr Pat Ahern, who still keeps an eye on proceedings.

It was a ‘follow-up’ from the very successful and highly acclaimed Green Glens (Millstreet) Millenium Pageant that celebrated 2,000 years of Christianity.
