THE Council is to consider a motion that a heritage trail be developed around Tralee.
Sinn Féin Cllr Pa Daly brought the motion at the meeting of Tralee Municipal District councillors on Monday.
He said their was huge scope for developing a Heritage Trail around the town with Scotia’s Glen, Weather’s Well and the place of the execution of the Earl of Desmond, just a few of many spots around the district which could be included on the trail.
“There is fantastic folklore out there that could be accessed for tourists,” he said.
Cllr Toireasa Ferris said that a few years ago, someone involved in the Mitchels Regeneration Project had developed an app which mapped sites of historical importance on a trail.
However, she said nothing had been done by the Council in developing this project and asked management look at finding support for Cllr Daly’s proposal.
