ON Saturday Tralee Rugby Club hosted both an Interprovincial Senior Ladies Final between Munster v Connacht and a ‘Family Fun Day’.
The Inter-pro final featured seven players who play for Tralee Rugby Club across both sides, with Connacht in fact having four players drawn from the Tralee club.
There was also the novelty of two sisters, Laura and Emer O’Mahony, from Ardfert going up against each other for national honours.

“We’re proud of the ladies taking part in the final today. To have so many players across two teams is a great achievement, they are a credit to the club,” said Club PRO John Murray.
Despite trailing 7-0 at half time the Munster ladies came back and in the final play of the game clinched victory with a penalty to win 9-7 and regain the Interpro title.
The match added to the lively atmosphere that was created by the ‘Family Fun Day’, a bouncey castle and face painting kept the kids busy and a barbecue made sure no one went hungry.
The Tralee players taking part in the ladies inter-pro final were not the only ones on duty for the provinces on Saturday.
Josh Barnes and James O’Connor played for the Munster U19 side in Cork against Ulster but lost 5-3 but Jack Quilter for Munster U18 had better luck against Ulster in Cork beating them 34-6.
