Senior Men

Mitchels 1-12
Brosna 0-11

A melting hot day for a game of football as we travelled to Brosna for what turned out to be two very important points in our race for promotion.

The weather had a big part to play as fatigue set in but both teams went at it none the less.
Alan Donoghue with five points and James Duggan with 1-3 lead the scoring charts for us who spear headed attack after attack.

Cian Holden scored two with Mikey Kelliher and Peter Murphy with a point each ensuring we came away with the victory.

Nice to see three fisted points today as our forwards were composed in front of goal. Brian Nammock in goal saving mode with a couple of one on ones and steady under the high ball.

Well done to subs coming on and again Brian O Donnell winning his duels and picking up breaking ball in the square ensuring Brosna were without goal chances.

Well done to squad and management on a much needed win .. on we go.

Under 11 boys

This week we welcomed Keel to John Mitchels for our latest County Go Game. The sun was high in the sky and we were treated to some great football from both sides. It was definitely a game of two halves as there was a nice breeze blowing. Both sides took advantage of it which led to a high scoring game. After a tough first half our lads rallied and put up a big score in the second half. In the end there was only a kick of a ball in it. Thanks to Keel for a very sporting game of football. Next Thursday we are away to Killarney Legion at 6.30 sharp.

u13 boys medal presentation on Sunday afternoon county league winners central league winners and tralee district winners of 2022

Under 13 Boys

The U13 team Green team played in the Division 1 County semifinal on Sunday evening. The weather was glorious, and the boys put on a first half performance to match. We took an 11 point lead into the break, knowing Kilcummin would turn up in the second half and so they did.

We went score for score and goal for goal, but our defense and forwards were determined not to let the lead slip. As we approached the second half water break and the sides remained separated by the 11 points.

To be fair to Kilcummin they never wilted and battled to the final whistle. It was a pleasure to play against a team who fought so hard and be able to come out the right side. The final score was 5:17 to 3:12 in our favor. We have a county final to look forward to in Division 1 over the coming weeks and our Gold team play a semifinal this Wednesday at 6pm in Ballyseedy where we will entertain Firies, all support welcome.

After the game the players had pizza and treats and medals from the three competitions (County League, Central League and Town League) our players won in 2022 were given out.

Thanks to senior players Peter Murphy and Wayne Conway for giving out the medals and also to the other members of the senior panel Pat, George Bastible, Thomas, and Cian who were also there on the night.

Thanks to Club Chairperson Brid and Juvenile Chairperson Mark for organising the evening and for all those who helped out on the night.

A special word of thanks to the U13 2022 Management team Sean Field, John Collins, John Creagh, Eoin O Callaghan and John Clancy for their work with this team and to the current 2023 Management Team who are continuing on the great work –  the time and commitment you give, like all our mentors in the club, is very much appreciated. Best of luck with the Division 1 final. Details to follow.
