Everyone in Kerins O’Rahillys would like to congratulate the Kerry seniors and management on their reaching the All Ireland semi-finals.

We would like to especially congratulate our own lads on their contributions on the day, David Moran’s Man of the Match performance, Barry John Keanes 1-03 to add to Kerry’s tally on the day and Tommy Walsh’s brilliant fielding when he came on. Well done lads and we look forward to seeing more of the same in a few weeks.

Senior Football

U21 Acorn Life U21 Championship Kerins O’Rahillys 1-16 John Mitchels 0-06

We qualified for the Acorn Under 21 Co. Championship final with a deserved win over old rivals John Mitchels played at Connolly Park last Wednesday evening in ideal conditions for football.

We dominated the first quarter and points by Tommy Begley, Pádraig Griffin, Cian Sayers and Ronan Quill had us ahead by 0-04 to John Mitchels 0-02 at the 14th minute. The team were combining well in this half with the backline of David Murphy, Martin Tierney, Karl Mullins and Mitchell Donnelly dominant and Cormac Coffey setting up a lot of the attacks going forward.

Further points by Gearoid Savage, Jack Savage, who put over 3 great points one from play and the other two from a free and a 45 had us ahead at half time by 0-08 to John Mitchels 0-04. The second half saw Kerins O’Rahillys again dominate and points by Jack Savage (2) and another by Gearoid Savage saw us lead by 0-11 to John Mitchels 0-05 at the 47th minute and looking good.

The only goal of the game came after this when Dylan Ronan set up Cormac Coffey who blasted to the net from close range. We added on points from Eoin O Carroll (2), Jack Savage and a final point by the impressive Diarmuid O Sullivan sealed the issue.

Robert O Connor had a fine game in goals and others to impress were James O Connor, Ryan Carroll, Brian Scannell and Gavin O Brien who had a great game mid field along with Cian Sayers. We now play East Kerry in the final on Tuesday the 11th. Venue to be confirmed.
