Seniors:

We resume the county league next weekend with a home game vs Ballymacelligott which will be played on Sat evening 1st April with throw in @ 6 pm

The new management team have had more time to work with the lads since St Patrick’s Day but given the loss of key players from last year,  every game, either home or away will be a tough assignment.

Our Division 6 game will see us welcome Milltown/Castlemaine to Strand Road on Sunday 2nd with a starting time of 11.00 am

Kerry bowed out of contention from this year’s league campaign when going under to Galway in Salthill on Sunday, losing eventually by two points; concentration now turns to the championship and the defence of the Munster and All Ireland titles.

Rock St PO Club Lotto Competition:

This week will bring to a close the final of the above competition which ends on Friday 31st – if you have any outstanding transactions which could be completed at a Post Office please ensure you drop into Martin & Marie, obtain your token and place in the KO’R bucket. Many thanks to all of you who have supported us in this to date.

Augusta Masters Golf Challenge:

The first Major of the year takes place in Augusta from 6-9th April and we are in the 11th year of our Masters Challenge competition – if you would like to partake, tickets are available from club members or can be played online by visiting ClubZap and scanning the QR Code therein which opens up a card – all online payments are fully encrypted via Clubforce.

Juvenile Club:

Due to the bad weather over the last few weeks and pitch conditions this week’s Juvenile Academy training took place in Tralee Sports Complex Astro turf.

U5 Boys enjoyed jam packed training sessions with their coaches developing their skills while still having great fun. Our coaches incorporate key skills into fun games that they play with the boys. This week our coaches would like the boys to practice their kicking.

U6 Girls – Great training session today for U6 girls. We’re really improving our skills. We’re going to practice our soloing this week. A special welcome to new members Heidi and Chloe. We are delighted they have joined our team. We look forward to another great session next week

U7 Boys – this group of boys are already proving to their coaches that they are practicing at home during the week. Today they concentrated on all skills but especially kick passing. They enthusiasm and drive they all bring is fantastic and their coaches are delighted with them.

U8 Girls and U10 Girls – Another fantastic morning of training with both groups of girls. Each girl is already showing huge improvement and their skills are coming along nicely. The girls will have games coming up in April so their coaches are encouraging them to practice as much as they can at home. This week they want the girls to practice hand passing and kick passing while on the move.

U9 Boys – had a very enjoyable training session this morning. Great enthusiasm shown by all the group. Lots of 1v1’s and 2v2’s. This week the coaches want the boys to practice kicking and hand passing while on the move as they’ll have loads of games starting in April.

Our juvenile Academy will continue next Sunday at 10am to 11am in Tralee Sports Complex to give our pitches a chance. Please keep an eye on clubzap for all updates regarding your child’s age group. It was lovely to see new members joining again this morning and as always our gates are always open and new members are always welcome to join our club you can contact us by

The Kerins O’Rahillys/St Pats Minors are resuming training this week and hope to have a mini camp over Easter with a challenge game or two. Our focus is on the upcoming central league and preparation for this starts this week.

Nótaí na mBan:

A busy period coming up for competitive groups with all of them in action over the next few weeks.

We reset our clocks last Sunday morning which means that British winter time bid us farewell. Spring has sprung and we can enjoy more daylight. All we need now is for Mother Nature to stop the rain pelting down so that pitches everywhere can dry out.

Fingers crossed that the weather improves and that we don’t have too many ‘April Showers.’

U12 GIRLS

Due to the wet weather the past fortnight the girls first outdoor training session of 2023 in Ballyrickard was cancelled and they trained in the MTU Sports Academy instead. Decibel levels were high as always as everyone had a fun filled training session and the smiles on their faces said it all when they were told after asking that they will be playing games shortly. We look forward to following their fortunes this year.

The North Kerry Board will have a gradings meeting this week. Plans are afoot for matches…

U14 GIRLS

The Mighty U14s were down a few for training due to Confirmations but what we lacked in numbers we made up for in fun. A cold but terrific training session. A great bunch!

The weather had won out for round 1 of the NCP league and our first match v Na Gaeil had to be postponed.

Instead our ladies started off their division 4 non county player league campaign with an away loss against Beaufort last Sunday.

Unfortunately it was not to be for our girls . For some , it was their first  game on a full size pitch and overall they dealt with the step up really well. Hard luck and thanks to Beaufort for hosting the game.

Round 3 has been postponed as many pitches around the county are unplayable.

U16 GIRLS

These ladies had to contend with very wintry conditions last Thursday evening during training on the AstroTurf in the MTU. A super performance in tough weather as they braved the elements.Well done!

Competitive action is just around the corner as Round 1 of the county league commences on Wednesday, April 5th when we are away to Corca Dhuibhne. We compete in division 4 for the county league.

Looking forward to seeing everyone at training in preparation for our first match.

MINORS

Our minor and senior players had a terrific joint training session last Friday evening in Tralee Sports Complex.

Wednesday, April 12th sees the start of the minor season. We will host Kilcummin and are in division 3 for the county league.

SENIORS

An enjoyable training session in Banna last Sunday morning. Well done to everyone!

We are in division 4 for the Donal Curtin Cup which commences  on April 2nd . In round 1 we are away to Currow.

CONDOLENCES

It was with great sadness that we learned of the passing of Joe Corrigan during the week. Our deepest sympathies to Joe’s family and friends. Joe worked in our club many years ago as caretaker and everyone who knew him has great memories of his bubbly personality. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.

We offer our sympathies to former Legion chairman and current PRO, Enda Walshe on the passing of his wife Breda.

Our condolences also to the families and friends of George Boyle, Maureen Roche and Abbie Moriarty.

May their souls rest in peace
