The off season has seen some notable changes within the club with the appointment of Richard Walsh ( Captain Dick) as club president,  in succession to the late Mossie Kelly,  and changes also at executive level with the appointment of Oliver Molloy as our new chairman.

Oliver succeeds Haulie Kerins and he too has been busy assembling a team following the departure of some long serving club officers and executive members.

Declan Quill will continue as vice chair, Moira Lynch Horgan is coming on board as secretary with Johnny Keane acting as assistant secretary.

There are a number of other appointments to be confirmed later.

New Bainisteoir:

Ray Walsh has been announced as the new club bainisteoir for the coming year.

Ray has a long and storied association with the club and in fact since 2000 has held a coaching/managerial role in the club be it at juvenile, minor, U-21 or senior level.

He was bainisteoir in 2006 when we won our first county minor championship in a side that included Tommy Walsh, David Moran and Con Barrett – he followed that triumph when patrolling the sidelines as we won 3 successive minor county leagues in ’07, ’08 & ’09.

He moved onto the senior panel in 2010 when we won the senior club championship.

He had success later with the u-21s when we won the club championship in 2013 and the big breakthrough in 2015 when our U-21s beat a fancied East Kerry side on a never to be forgotten night in Castleisland.

He later served alongside Barry O’Shea in 2015 as a selector.

In addition to his time with the club, he gained valuable experience with both Scartaglin and Finuge at county league level.

Ray is a worthy successor to John O’Connor, a true blue and uniquely will serve as manager with his dad, Captain Dick as our new president.

Ray will be announcing his management team shortly.

We wish him and the lads all the best for the year ahead!

10K/5K Run:

The annual run was officially launched on Sat morning last 13th Jan and will take place on Sunday 28th Jan commencing at 11.00 am from the clubhouse.

The FBD sponsored event is being held in association with the Kerry Cancer Support Service.

The run follows the usual route, parts of which feature in the Tralee Marathon series of runs.

In addition to individual and age categories, there is also a best team performance award.

Registration will cost €20 for the 5km race and €25 for the 10km. Meanwhile it will cost just €5 for those under the age of 16 to register to take part – registration is online only @ https://myrunresults.com/…/kerins_o…/5020/details

Last Man Standing:

The ever popular fundraiser, Last Man Standing, returns for another year with the commencement of the national league on Jan 27th.

1. It’s simple – just pick the winner of one national league game each round of fixtures. If your selection wins then you progress to the next week, lose or draw and you’re out.

2. Pay your €10 entry fee before Week 1 — no need to pay again.

3. You cannot pick the same team twice so study your picks carefully and be tactical !

4. The winner will be the ‘Last Man Standing‘… the person who has correctly picked a winning team every week and is the only person left in the competition

5. A cash prize of €500 will be awarded to the winner.

6. Updates will be published weekly on our Facebook page

Cards are available from any of the senior panel or why not play online by scanning the attached QR Code – all payments are managed by Clubforce.ie and fully encrypted.

You can also play by sending a WhatsApp message with your selections to : Johno @ 086 8500139 or Pat 086 3801898 or e-mailing your entry to : LMS20241@outlook.com – payment can be made via Revolut @ johnsy5lj
