Golf Classic Launch:

The launch of our first major fundraiser since Strictly Come Dancing, took place on Friday night last, 2nd February with the announcement of a golf classic in Tralee GC to be held on Friday 29th March ( Good Friday).

The fundraising is part of a 5 year plan to upgrade and develop our facilities in Healy Park to cater for the growing numbers of juveniles and ladies teams.

Teams of 4 will cost €750 and such is the interest already, the event is almost sold out – if you would like to enter a team please contact Pat ( 086 3801898) or Antoinette( 0872072266).

Last Man Standing:

This year’s LMS has once again proven to be an outstanding fundraiser with in excess of €9,000 raised.

We express our thanks to all who made such an effort in selling cards and those who supported this initiative – we would like to thank John O’Connor in particular for his efforts in motivating and co-ordinating the players’ response.

Round 2 results will be available early this week on Facebook.

10K Run:

The 10k run and 5k fun run has now established itself on the racing circuit with interest coming from all over Munster as many athletes have pencilled in the last Sunday in January for their visit to Tralee.

We would like to pay special thanks to Frank, Caitriona and Tony in ensuring the event runs off smoothly and that participants are well treated.

Lotto:

The lotto jackpot has now reached €10,800 with sales reflecting the huge interest in this great prize.

The weekly sales are a key component of our fundraising to help defray the running of the club and the support of the lotto is greatly appreciated.

Tickets available locally from Rock St PO, Jimmys, the Klub and Betty’s Bar – if you would like to play online please log on to the following link: https://play.clubforce.com/play_newa.asp?ll_id=328#Anchor

Nótaí na mBan:

Do you ever wonder why girls drop out of sport at such an early age? …Orlagh Farmer, Cork senior ladies footballer for her PHD looked into the reasons why through the Gaelic4Girls programme.

Her research found that girls wanted to participate because of the enjoyment of it and not so much the winning aspect. She also found out that friends have a major influence on whether they will participate in sport or not.

In our club we will prioritize the experience and enjoyment over winning. We will always promote participation and help with the development of skills. Girls will have fun.

We are a welcoming club. For more details on training please contact Shirley ( 086) 8713552.

U12 GIRLS

Last Thursday evening our U12s met for their first training session of 2024.

We look forward to seeing everyone again next Thursday, February 8th for training on the astroturf in CBS, The Green at 6p.m.

Newcomers are always welcome, so bring a friend…

U12 TEAM 2023

A fantastic celebration took place in our club’s bistro on Tuesday , marking our U12 footballers participation in 2023 development. It was an evening to recognise how strong team and friendship bonds are, on and off the pitch and the improvement in everyones’ skills.

Our inspiring speaker Declan Quill, joint Kerry LGFA manager presented everyone with medals and shared some insights into ladies football and told us that it is the fastest growing sport in Europe. A role model for so many of our players in our ‘One Club ‘ model, Declan continues to inspire as he  gives back to the sport he loves for both girls and boys.

Thanks to our club chairman Oliver Molloy for welcoming everyone and for encouraging the girls to keep up their great work.

Each player was given a beautiful wooden plaque for their dedication to training and fun games throughout the year.

They were then treated to food while their families had light refreshments, cake and biscuits. Many thanks to Liz and Sinéad for helping out.

Well done to the U12 team of 2023!

U14 GIRLS

These young ladies took to the astroturf again last Saturday on what was a very wet morning.

However this didn’t dampen their spirits or affect the turnout. Their coaches Adrian, Tricia, Richard and Deirdre were delighted with the session.

U16 LADIES

Training continues on Tuesdays on The Green’s Astro at 6p.m. and in our club gym at 7p.m. on Fridays.

MINOR LADIES

Our minor coaches for 2024 are Frank, William, Niall and Emma.

As soon as the fixtures have been confirmed they will be in contact with parents about training.

SENIOR LADIES

The ladies enjoyed a tough session in Tralee Mauy Thai last Friday evening. Well done to everyone!
