NÓTAÍ NA mBAN

September is heart month and the Irish Heart Foundation are inviting LGFA clubs from all over Ireland to help spread awareness of this campaign and its important message.
As part of the campaign which is kindly sponsored by the HSE and Healthy Ireland, the Irish Heart Foundation have developed a range of resources to help us to protect our hearts .These supports can be found on their website … definitely worth a read ladies !

U12 GIRLS
Huge thank you to all the parents who  supported the girls at the Abbeydorney blitz last Sunday.
We are so proud of all the girls for the effort they put in.
It is so important to have our two teams for competition as if we don’t we have so many girls sitting on the sideline.
We do think it is very important to remind all parents that skills development is different for every child but the crucial thing at this time is game time. It will stand to them.
Please continue to encourage your child and the most important thing is that they enjoy it.
Thank you all for your continued support.

Congrats to Taylor Kate Leane and her younger sister Mia who donated the proceeds from their lemonade stand at the Tralee Magic  BC U14 tournament in aid of Breast Cancer Ireland.

TOWN LEAGUE
STRAND ROAD BLUES
Round 2 -Bye

Round 3
Wednesday , September 21st
Division 3
Strand Road Blues v Churchill
6.30p.m. , Ballyrickard pitch
Best wishes to everyone!

KERINS O’ RAHILLY
Churchill v Kerins O’ Rahilly ( Drew)

In perfect conditions for football it was nip and tuck for much of the match with our ladies maintaining a slender lead throughout .

Both teams applied themselves exceptionally well and were full of hunger and desire from the first throw in by George O’ Donnell.

Churchill’s girls proved, as in the past, to be stiff opposition but this seemed to get the best out of our players.

Our defenders were disciplined and tenacious in their tackling and were excellent at launching attacks when in possession.

Our goalie on the night remained calm . Our midfielders caught lots of ball and delivered well into our forward line who delivered great scores in style.

An exciting match which ended in a draw for two teams who played great football at a fast pace. Well done to all players on each team. What a display it was for U12s…

In round 3 we play Austin Stacks in Ballyrickard on Tuesday 20th. Throw in will be at 6.30p.m.
Best of luck to the team and management!

Kerins O’ Rahilly U12s who had a wonderful day at the Abbeydorney blitz

ABBEYDORNEY NORTH KERRY U12 BLITZ
Congrats to Abbeydorney and thank you for a wonderful fun morning where youthful verve and enthusiasm was most certainly evident.

A perfect day for football and so well run by the host club.
We won two of our three matches and made it to the cup final on score difference. We played Abbeydorney in the the final and with our defence working extremely  hard it was a few minutes before the opposition managed to score . Abbeydorney proved too strong for our team and were worthy winners. Congrats!

Our young ladies had a great time and played exceptionally well in each of their matches.
There were some excellent displays of sporting behaviour and skills from everyone on the day.
Each team had a wonderful and enjoyable morning of football.
Many thanks to Abbeydorney LGFA for their hospitality which was second to none … a credit to all involved!
Well done to all teams who took part  in what was a fantastic morning of football.

Kerins O’ Rahilly U14 Ladies

U14 GIRLS
Our U14s had a busy week firstly taking on a well drilled Austin Stacks side followed by a home match v Beale and to finish off the week played Na Gaeil.

NORTH KERRY LEAGUE
Kerins O’ Rahilly 4-10
Beale 1 -06
Our U14s recorded another brace of victories on Thursday in Ballyrickard.
All girls got good game time and put in a very impressive display of football. They will receive their sternest test when they take on Ballyduff over the next week or so.

TOWN LEAGUE
Kerins O’ Rahilly 1-13
Austin Stacks 2-09

We were well on top in the first half. Our neighbours came out with a bit more spark about them in the second half and not before long were back in contention We were unlucky to lose to our neighbouring Austin Stacks by the narrowest of margins despite a great team performance.

TOWN LEAGUE
Na Gaeil 0-15
Kerins O’ Rahilly 0-06

On Sunday, all roads lead to Killeen for round of the U14, division 2 Town League. A cool enough autumn evening with a good attendance to support both sides.
We began the scoring with 2 points but Na Gaeil pulled in front with some well taken points. Come half time we were down 3 points – Na Gaeil 0-08, Kerins O’ Rahilly 0-05.
Unfortunately the second half didn’t go our way and we were beaten by a stronger Na Gaeil team. Well done !

Our U14s will then be in action again in the North Kerry league  next Thursdaywhen they play Moyvane in Knockanure. Throw in will be at 6.30p.m.

U15 District Kerins O’ Rahilly players Kelly Fitzgerald, Taylor Stack, Saoirse O’ Connor MacCarthy, Aoibheann McCarthy and Donna O’ Regan

Juvenile Notes:
Another busy and successful Sunday morning was had by our Juvenile Academy which saw some teams travel for games while others welcomed teams to Ballyrickard and some continued with their training sessions. Our dedicated coaches continue to train support and encourage each player while having fun and a laugh along the way.

U5 Boys:
These boys enjoyed yet another fun filled training session with their coaches on Sunday morning. They practiced their passing and kicking skills through fun games and finished off with a few fun games at the end.

U6 Girls:
A very good turnout on Sunday morning by this bunch of girls. The girls worked hard on all their skills, showing fabulous progress from the start of the summer.  Finished with a game where, pretty evenly matched, both teams and every girl got stuck in.  All devastated at the absence of Roy and looking forward to having him back next Sunday.

U7 Boys:
Our U7 boys played Ardfert in a sun drenched Ballyrickard Sunday morning.  We had 31 players togged out in their blue and white and all of them got game time. Great skills on show from all the boys. Keep up the practice during the week boys and a big thank you to Ardfert for coming in to us. Hopefully we’ll get to call out to ye in next few weeks. We are looking forward to our bus trip to Dr. Crokes next Saturday, please check clubZap for more details.

U8 Girls:
Another fantastic performance from this mighty bunch of girls as they played Mitchell’s on Sunday morning in John Mitchell’s GAA grounds. They showed fantastic team work throughout the games and great skills on show, hand passing and kicking the ball up and down the pitch and getting some beautiful scores. Our defence did very well keeping the opposition s scoring to a minimum. Our goalies showed great skills with their kick outs and saves. Well done to each and every girl ye are all turning into fine players. Thanks to Mitchell’s for having us.

U9 Boys:
A super morning of football in the new Ardfert Recreation Centre for our U9s was had on Sunday morning. In balmy conditions both teams played four games each. They played against Ardfert x2, Finuge and Keel. The boys played brilliantly and showed a great array of skills, team work and tough tackling. Thanks to all the parents for coming and showing your support for the players. Next Saturday we will be travelling by bus to Killarney to play Dr Crokes. Please check clubZap for more details.

U10 Girls:
Our U10 girls played Mitchell’s on Sunday morning in John Mitchell’s GAA grounds in glorious conditions.  The girls put in a fine performance, producing some great team scores. Their hard work in training is really beginning to come to fruition. Everyone is delighted and very proud of each of these girls and the fantastic players they are becoming. Well done to all and thank you to the parents for coming to support this fine team. Thanks to Mitchell’s for having us.

U11 Boys:
Our U11 boys enjoyed another jam packed training session in glorious sunshine. This bunch of boys have all put in massive work both at training and at home throughout the last number of months. And this is clear to see from the quality of the skills on show by each of them. Keep up the good work boys. We will play Firies this Thursday evening in Ballyrickard.  Please check clubZap for more details.

Thank you as always to Nathan from Ballyseedy Garden Centre for providing the goodies at the end of training.  Please make sure you keep an eye on ClubZap during the week for information regarding each age group. We look forward to seeing you all again next week again.
