Kerry College And Kerry ETB Learners Prepare For World Skills Ireland Event

APPRENTICES and Learners at Kerry ETB and Kerry College are preparing for the World Skills Ireland event at the RDS next week.

The event takes place from Wednesday, September 20 to Friday, September 22 and will see 30,000 visitors across three days culminating with an awards event on Friday where the Gold Medal winners in each category will go forward to represent their country at World Skills 2024.

Kerry College and Kerry ETB will be represented across four skills categories — Architectural Stonemasonry, Industrial Automation, Beauty Therapy and Commis Chef See list below).

The goal is to choose the very best in each  skills  area to represent Ireland at the  47th  World Skills Competition in Lyon France in 2024.

Beyond the competition itself, the event is also a large scale expo on the various  skills  based careers available to school leavers, career changer and returners.

Visitors to the exhibition will be able to hear inspiring real-live talks on the ‘Heroes Stage’, visit the careers zone, take part in competitions, try-a-skill/interactive areas, and get to view a wide range of demonstrations and exhibitors.

Kerry College’s Broadcast Production Skills course are running a live TV Studio during the event which includes daily live broadcasts from the RDS presented by Radio Kerry’s Brendan Fuller.

World Skills Ireland is a partnership between enterprise, industry, education, training and government that raises the profile and recognition of skills and apprenticeships and prepares the talent of today for the careers of the future.
