Kerry County Council buildings in Rathass will turn a greenish-blue colour tonight.

KERRY County Buildings will turn teal tonight as the building at Rathass is lit up to mark International Trigeminal Neuralgia Awareness Day.

The Council headquarters is one of numerous public buildings around Ireland which will be lit up with teal-coloured lighting to highlight the rare neurological condition.

Last October 7, over 60 buildings, monuments and stadiums turned the greenish-blue colour around the world. Teal is the internationally recognised colour associated with awareness about the debilitating condition.

“Living with Trigeminal Neuralgia can be debilitating, lonely and agonizing. Sufferers say there is a lack of understanding and frequent misdiagnosis. Unfortunately, there is no known cure and pain killers have little or no effect on the condition,” said Sarah Heavey of Trigeminal Neuralgia Ireland.
