A KERRY man has received the ACCA Accountant of the Year Award at the ACCA’s annual Chairman’s Lunch.

Congratulating Cathal Cusack from Valentia on his award, Fergus Condon, Chairman of ACCA Ireland said: “Cathal is a proud advocate for the ACCA, an active member of the ACCA practice Network Group who has, in the past, represented ACCA on the CRO’s Accountants Forum and CCABI’s Technical Co-ordinating Committee. A former accountant to the stars in London, he has now established his own professional accounting practice, Cusack Garvey, providing big firm advice in a small firm environment.”

Commenting on his Award, Cathal Cusack said: “It is an honour to receive this award from the ACCA and my peers. Having trained as an ACCA over 25 years ago, this particular accounting qualification has afforded me an exciting and worthwhile career, with great opportunities and ability to influence change.”

The event was attended by guest speaker, broadcaster and futurologist, Johnathan McCrea and over 150 accountancy professionals.
