Kevin Williams Signs Up For Another Season With Kerry FC

KERRY Football Club has confirmed that they have secured the services of Kevin Williams for the 2024 SSE Airtricity Men’s First Division campaign.

Williams, a Kerry native, returned to the Kingdom in 2023 ahead of the club’s inaugural season in the League of Ireland

The 23-year-old Centre Back has a wide variety of experience in the game. He played for the Kerry FC Academy at under 17 and 19 levels. From Kerry FC he signed for Cork City and lined up with the club’s under 19 squad.

From Cork, Williams made the move to Cobh Ramblers where he played in the SSE Airtricity First Division.

Kevin made the move to Germany in 2021 where he played for Inter Leipzig and more recently with FSV Union Fürstenwalde in the Oberliga.

Williams went on to play a total of 34 of a possible 38 games for Kerry FC during the 2023 season, starting all of the 34 games he played meaning he was a key player under the stewardship of Billy Dennehy.

Speaking on his re-signing for Kerry FC, Kevin Williams said “I am very much looking forward to the season ahead. I can’t wait to play in front of the fans again in Mounthawk Park once the season gets back underway in February”

Also speaking following his re-signing, First Team Head Coach Conor McCarthy said; “We’re are delighted to sign Kevin ahead of the 2024 season. Kevin was a key player for us last season and we’re delighted to have him for 2024, he’s a leader in the group and a player that young players can look up to with the way he trains and his professionalism off the pitch also. I know the fans love him and can’t wait to see him back for another year”.
