THE Lidl store based on the Tralee Road in Killarney, sold the winning €1m Quick Pick ticket in Sunday night’s 9pm Daily Million draw.

The National Lottery confirmed yesterday that the Kerry winner had already made contact and arrangements are being made for them to claim their prize.

Store Manager Stephen O’Connell said the call couldn’t have come at a better time “I tell ya, I was suffering from the Monday blues and then I got the call with the great news that we’d sold a winning ticket worth a million euro and I just couldn’t believe it! It made my day.

“I’ve been working in shops since the age of sixteen and this is the biggest win I’ve ever seen one of the customers get! We’re a very busy store here and at this time of year our customer base is very mixed with tourists and locals. It’s a life-changing amount for sure and I hope it brings joy and happiness to the winner,” he added.
