Kingdom Pride Festival And Founder Nominated For Awards

THE Kingdom Pride in Kerry festival and its founder have been nominated for three awards at the national LGBT+ awards, the GALAS.

The GALAS awards showcase LGBT+ work that happens across the nation of Ireland in the pursuit of equality and inclusion.

This year, Kerry’s Kingdom Pride in Kerry festival has been nominated for the Community Organisation of the Year – Volunteer Staff. It is the youngest Pride to have been nominated for an award at the GALAS.

Founder and former Chairperson, Morgan Queeney of Listowel, has been nominated in two categories – Volunteer of the Year, and LGBTQ+ Young Trailblazer. They are the only person to be nominated in more than one category this year.

The GALAS awards ceremony will run on October 17.  Kingdom pride is a festival organised by a voluntary group of LGBTQ+ activists and allies in Kerry.

The group has an advisory panel of community supports that include the Listowel Family Resource Center; ScEEN In Kerry; Jigsaw Kerry; Trans Kerry Support Group; Kerry Diocesan Youth Service (KDYS); BLM Kerry; Tralee International Resource Centre (T.I.R.C.); CYPSC Kerry; LINC Out Kerry; Gay Project; and Kerry Adolescent Youth Counselling.
