KERRY Mental Health Association has joined Tralee Chamber Alliance and Killarney Chamber of Tourism & Commerce with a view to promoting workplace wellbeing in Kerry’s two largest towns.

Workplace Wellbeing relates to all aspects of working life, from the quality and safety of the physical environment, to how workers feel about their work, their working environment, the climate at work and work organization.

The General Manager of Kerry Mental Health Association, John Drummey, said, “Kerry Mental Health Association is cementing its links with the business communities in Tralee, as Kerry’s Capital, and Killarney, as the number 1 tourism destination in Ireland.

“We are committed to constantly reviewing and updating our programme of activities, to respond to the local and county needs. We expect that our membership of the chambers in Tralee and Killarney will help us reach a wider audience when developing and delivering mental health training programmes and activities in the future. It is also our wish, with more access to networks such as the chambers of commerce in both towns, to see more people get involved with us as volunteers.”

The primary objective of Kerry Mental Health Association is to promote the general welfare of people and to support those with mental health challenges and/or their families and carers.

Kerry Mental Health Association is active in many other towns and districts with eight branches currently operational throughout the county. Kerry Mental Health Association also operates as an Approved Housing Body, with residences in Tralee, Killarney, Listowel, Killorglin, Rathmore and Caherciveen providing housing for people living with mental ill-health who are on the county council housing list.

The President of Tralee Chamber Alliance, Stephen Stack and the Joint-Presidents of Killarney Chamber of Tourism & Commerce, Pádraig Treacy and Johnny McGuire have welcomed Kerry Mental Health Association’s membership of the two organisations.
