Listellick NS Pupils Win Concern Primary Schools Debating Final

SIXTH class pupils in Listellick National School were celebrating this week after winning the Concern Primary Schools Debating Kerry Final.

In an exciting final debate which was held live via Zoom, they came out on top after a lively contest with pupils from Spa National School.

The motion was “Children can make a big difference to the environment” with Listellick proposing and Spa NS opposing the motion.

The adjudicator, Mr. Michael Doorly, praised both teams for their presentation, research and teamwork.

Both teams worked put in a huge effortover the last few months to reach the final.  The Principal, Ms. Annette Dineen, said she is very proud of the team, 6th class and their teachers, Ms. Flynn and Mr. O’Dubhghaill.

“It was a tremendous team effort and we look forward to the next round,” she said.  Listellick will now go on to represent Kerry in the regional finals.
