EIGHT staff members from a local company will forego using the razor for November to raise funds for a worthy cause.

The lads from Premier Auto Parts will grow their facial hair in the Movember challenge in a bid to raise funds for the Kerry Hospice Foundation.

David Ross, manager of the business in Monavalley Industrial Estate, said it was a cause close to the hearts of most people.

“Cancer comes to almost every family’s door and the staff at the Palliative Care Unit do amazing work. It’s touched the lives of so many people and we all know someone who has received care there,” said David.

He said they already raised over €1,700 for charity in similar fundraisers before lockdown and they hope to raise far more this time.

Anyone who donates to the gofundme page will also be entered in a draw for some great prizes sponsored by a number of local companies.

They are Relihan Dismantlers, Mike Ross Construction, Kerry Auto Pre-Tests, Office And Ink, Garyowen Transport and Premier Auto Parts themselves.

The lads will be shaved at the end of the month by Eric from Official Barber in town and a cheque will then be presented to Kerry Hospice.
