The property at Shearwater, Templenoe , which sold last month for €2.7m.

A BIT of ‘property porn’ for you.

According to the residential property price register, this mansion in south Kerry sold for an amazing €2.7m last month and it’s not that surprising.

Set on over six acres of land overlooking Kenmare Bay, the six-bedroom, four-bathroom thatched house Shearwater, Templenoe, Kenmare, is some piece of property (as you can see in the photos below).

Built in 2010, the property is entered via electronic wrought iron gates and a winding driveway leads to the house via landscaped gardens. The house has underfloor heating on both levels and with zoning in each room and there’s an oil-fired boiler as a back up heating system.

There are long-plank oak floors throughout the property and the ceiling height is a minimum of 2.6m.

The kitchen has an oil-fired Aga and a Lacanche electric and gas oven also. It features a Philippe Hertier-designed solid timber kitchen with quartz worktops, an integrated double fridge and integrated double dishwashers.

The kitchen opens up into an informal dining room/living room. There is another formal dining room, drawing room, study and utility downstairs also.

Upstairs, four of the bedrooms are en-suite and three have covered balconies to take advantage of the  views of Kenmare Bay.

The property also has an additional thatched garden room and garage beside the main residence. Scroll down for photos (you can also see a video of the house and surroundings here)
