MARK Griffin is stepping away from the Kerry senior football squad for the forthcoming season.
In an interview with the Irish Examiner, the St Michael’s Foilmore clubman cited work commitments — he is a project manager with Enercon — and a wish to do a bit of travelling as reasons for leaving the panel and not being able to fully commit to Kerry for the 2020 season.
The 28 year old — who did not feature as prominently as he would have wished in Kerry’s route to the All-Ireland final this year — said he has not had a prolonged break from football since the age of 18 and needed to recharge. To read the full interview, click here.
