A BEAUFORT woman is organising a fundraising dance in aid of Crumlin Hospital in Dublin, to give something back after her late daughter received treatment there some years ago.

The dance takes place on Saturday, November 28, at the Fels Point Hotel and the organiser, Mary Healy, explained the reasons for putting it on.

“My daughter Mary Kate was diagnosed with a liver disease called biliary atresia about 10 years ago. We spent about a year up and down to Crumlin hospital at the time, so I just wanted to give something back by raising funds,” she said.

Mary Kate sadly passed away a year after her first birthday in 2007. Fundraising events have been held over the years in Mary Kate’s memory, including an annual walk which takes place this year on December 27 from the Killarney Oaks Hotel.

It will also be an occasion to remember Mary’s brother, John B Doona, who died from cancer back in 2011.

All funds raised from the night will go to Our Ladys Children’s Hospital Dublin & The National Children’s Research Centre Crumlin.

Doors open at 9pm, with music by The Two Mikes & Family Ties. There’ll be spot prizes galore and tickets are only €5 each.

For Tickets and any further information, please phone: 087 2267621 (Mary) or 086 8902932 (Carmel)
