Michelle Plans 10 Miler And 5k Race For February

AFTER holding a very successful event on New Year’s Eve, Michelle Greaney of Optimal Fitness has another race planned for next month which is sure to attract running enthusiasts.

The Tralee 10 Miler and 5k Road Race will take place on Sunday, February 18 at 10am from The Rose Hotel.

As with her previous road event, the chosen charity is the Kerry-Cork Health Link Bus. The New Year’s Eve 10k and 5k drew nearly 230 runners and raised a total of €600 which was presented to the charity by Michelle last week.

There will be substantial cash prizes for the top 3 male and female, trophies for top 3 male and female finishers and Masters category trophy for male and female. There will be a bespoke medal and tech finishers t-shirt for all participants.

The Tralee 10 miler will bring together the ideal combination of club athletes and recreational runners over a relatively flat fast course taking in the outskirts of Tralee.

Michelle Greaney of Optimal Fitness presents a cheque to Trish Kelly of Kerry Cork Health Link Bus, the proceeds from the New Year’s Eve 10k Race.

The event is the perfect training distance for the half and full marathon coming up on March 18.

For the 5k event there will be a Bespoke medal for all finishers, trophies for the first 5 male and female in the 5k, 1st Junior (16-19) male and female in 5k and 1st U16 male and female. This is an accurately measured course and chip timed event.

Early bird entry for the 10 Miler is  €25 + 0.80c transaction fee up until Jan 18th, €30 + .80c until Feb 16th. The 5k entry €10 + .30c transaction fee.
