Sam Maguire Cup Visits Milltown/Castlemaine GAA:
Milltown/Castlemaine GAA were thrilled to welcome the much sought after Sam Maguire Cup along with a number of our Kerry Senior Football All-Ireland winning panel in the form of Mike Breen, Gavin White, Tadhg Morley, Diarmuid O’Connor and Paul Murphy to the Paddy Burke Memorial Park and to some of our club sponsors businesses in the locality on Tuesday evening last week for an evening full of positivity and excitement as our club and community members got an opportunity to get their pictures taken with the cup, mingle amongst the Kerry players and it also offered an opportunity for autographs to be signed.

An experience that all of our club community thoroughly enjoyed and a just reward for all the trojan efforts of the players and coaches throughout the 2022 season.

The club are very grateful to the Kerry players for giving of their time so generously on the evening and for being such fantastic role models to our future stars.

Thank you to all involved in the club for the organising and hosting of the evening which a lot of work went into. We appreciate the time given by numerous volunteers also on the evening for ensuring the smooth running of the event.

Congratulations:
All at Milltown/Castlemaine GAA Club would like to offer our deepest congratulations and best wishes to our current Milltown/Castlemaine Senior team manager David Heasman who was recently announced as a selector for the Kerry Minor Footballers for the 2023 season.

David has been a juvenile coach with a number of our club underage sides in recent years, has been involved in the management of Kerry GAA Development Squads and will be a tremendous addition to the Kerry Minor management.

We would also like to wish the newly appointed Kerry Minor Football Manager, Wayne Quillinan the very best of luck in his position. Wayne is a former trainer of our Milltown/Castlemaine Senior side and is an extremely well regarded coach.

We look forward to getting behind the team next year and showing our support for the lads who are well deserving of the opportunity to represent The Kingdom. Seamus O’Dowd (Dingle) and Niall O’Mahony (Spa Killarney) make up the remainder of the management team.

U-10 Girls: End of Season

To round off the year they will have a medal presentation on Thursday, October 20th at 6:15pm at the club grounds.

Well done to the players and management for their hard work and commitment throughout the season. The girls had a very enjoyable year where they had a number of outings at their challenge matches and blitzes and the players were improving week on week with the support and encouragement of their mentors.

Condolences:
All involved in Milltown/Castlemaine GAA Club would like to offer our heartfelt condolences to the family of Margaret Deane (nee O’Shea) of Behenagh, Camp, Tralee and formerly of Listry, Co Kerry who passed away recently.

Margaret’s sister Deirdre and niece Katie O’Sullivan are very involved in our club and play a crucial role in the development of some of our youngest boys and girls footballers at juvenile level for which we are always very appreciative. Deirdre is also a former Club PRO. Our thoughts and prayers are with the entire O’Sullivan family at this difficult time. RIP.
