The fortnightly club lotto draw took place on Monday, August 21st at the club grounds. There was no jackpot or Match 3 winner on this occasion. The numbers drawn were 6, 21, 28 and the bonus ball was 24.

Kerry Petroleum Intermediate Club Football Championship: Group 1, Round 3: Result

Milltown/Castlemaine’s Senior ‘A’ side welcomed Beaufort to the Paddy Burke Memorial Park on Saturday, August 26th for Round 3 of the Kerry Petroleum Intermediate Club Football Championship in Group One.

Beaufort led at half-time on a scoreline of 1-4 to 0-5 and extended their lead to 2-4 to 0-6 by the 45th minute but a late surge from Milltown/Castlemaine seen our lads kick five of the last six points to ensure the spoils were shared as the tie finished 2-05 to 0-11.

Following the conclusion of the group stage, Milltown/Castlemaine progressed to the knockout stage by finishing in 2nd place.

Kerry Petroleum Intermediate Club Football Championship: Quarter-Final Fixture
Milltown/Castlemaine will travel to take on Kilcummin in the Quarter-Final of the Kerry Petroleum Intermediate Club Football Championship on Sunday, September 3rd at 4:00pm.

Tickets for the match will be available to purchase at the entrance gate to the field on Sunday or online over the coming days at the following link:

U10 Girls:
Last Tuesday evening, Milltown/Castlemaine were delighted to welcome the Annascaul U10 girls for some challenge games.
All the girls put on a wonderful display of their footballing skills
We had some great support on the sideline. Sincere thanks to all the parents and coaches.

U12 Girls:
Our under 12 girls started their East Kerry League (Group 4) campaign on Tuesday evening against MKL C in Milltown.
Very proud of how our girls are continuing to develop and put on a courageous & spirited display of football this evening. Both sets of teams enjoyed some well deserved treats after the game. Thank you to Anthony for organising.
Next up is Killarney Legion B at home next Tuesday evening at 6.30pm.

A massive thank you also to Beaufort last morning for facilitating a challenge game for our Under 12 girls. An end to end contest, with some fantastic football played, and scores taken from both sides.

U13 Boys: Kellihers Toyota Central Region Division 2 Final Result
Hard luck to the Milltown/Castlemaine U13 Green team and management who came up short in the Kellihers Toyota Central Region Division 2 Final on Sunday evening against Glenbeigh/Glencar/Cromane at Beaufort GAA Grounds. The final score was 4-08 to 1-11.

Date for the Diary: Milltown/Castlemaine GAA Night at the Dogs Fundraiser
Milltown/Castlemaine GAA Club are gearing up for a family fun night at the dogs at the Kingdom Greyhound Stadium on Saturday September 16th. It will be a fundraiser and there is a great night out planned with lots of fun activities for all the family to enjoy! Tickets are now available from club members.

Leaving Certificate Results: Well Done
Huge congratulations and well done to all the students who received their Leaving Certificate results on Friday especially to our own club members 👍. A wonderful achievement and we wish you all the very in your future endeavors.

Congratulations: to one of our former club players, Klara O Sullivan Nugent played full forward for O’Donovan Rossa Ladies in New York recently and she notched up a tremendous tally of 1-4 in the LGFA New York Junior Championship Final played in Gaelic Park against Shannon Gaels.

Klara began playing her underage football with the club here in 1999. She featured for Milltown/Castlemaine, Milltown/Listry and MKL Gaels LGFA.
Klara also played Inter County at U14 and U21 level and college football with UCD.
After finishing her college studies here in Ireland, Klara headed off to New York where she now resides and works as a Veterinary Surgeon at Pure Paws, Hudson Square.

She joined O’Donovan Rossa ladies in 2020 and didn’t have to wait too long to get her hands on some silverware!
Klara is pictured here with her husband Emmet Nugent, her dog Rog (team mascot) better known as Rodge the Dodge and the Peter Connaughton Cup following their thrilling win.

Milltown Tidy Towns: Volunteers Needed

Join Milltown Tidy Towns – We need your help. Meeting every Thursday at 6.30pm at The Old Milltown Community Hall. Milltown Castlemaine GAA Clothes Recycling Collection:

Our clothing recycling collection is now happening so we urge you to clean out your wardrobes of all unwanted clothes, sheets, blankets, towels, curtains, shoes etc and drop them to the Paddy Burke Memorial Park in Milltown.
This is a wonderful way of doing your bit for the environment and raising much needed funds for our club at the same time.
