Mid Kerry Minor Football Championship: Semi-Final Result and Final Fixture

Milltown/Castlemaine 2-10
Keel/Listry 0-14

Venue: Paddy Burke Memorial Park, Milltown

Referee: Jonathan Griffin (Glenbeigh/Glencar)

Congratulations to the Milltown/Castlemaine Minor team and management who advanced to the Mid Kerry Final on Saturday afternoon following a nail-biting two point victory over near neighbours Keel/Listry at the Paddy Burke Memorial Park in Milltown in challenging underfoot conditions for both sides due to the recent inclement weather.

Milltown/Castlemaine carried a four point lead into half time as two all important first half goals from Dara Hogan and Eoghan Corbett gave them a 2-04 to 0-06 advantage. The only other scorer during the half for the hosts was Gearóid Quirke as he put over a lovely point off his left from play.

Keel/Listry battled back in the second half and as the game approached the closing stages the visitors levelled the contest at 0-14 to 2-08. Milltown/Castlemaine’s six second half points all came from the boot of Dara Hogan and with three minutes of injury time added on by referee Jonathan Griffin it was to Hogan that the home side once again turned to and he delivered by landing two superb scores from distance to propel his side to a two point victory and taking his own personal tally for the day to a hugely impressive 1-8.

A great result by the lads who were three points down at one stage of the match. They have now taken victories against Beaufort, Glenbeigh/Glencar/Cromane and Keel/Listry in this seasons Mid Kerry Championship.

Scorers:
Dara Hogan 1-8
Eoghan Corbett 1-1
Gearóid Quirke 0-1

Milltown/Castlemaine will now meet Laune Rangers in the Mid Kerry Minor Football Championship Final with date, time and venue to be confirmed.
