AIB Munster Intermediate Club Football Championship: Semi-Final Result
Milltown/Castlemaine 0-10
Cill na Martra 0-13

Venue: Cill na Martra GAA Grounds, Cork.

Referee: Derek O’Mahoney (Tipperary)

Hard luck to our Milltown/Castlemaine Senior Football team and management who fell to a three point defeat in Cork on Sunday afternoon in the AIB Munster Intermediate Club Football Championship Semi-Final against Cill na Martra. Our lads trailed 0-6 to 0-4 at half time and whilst we did put over the first three scores of the second half to take the lead, the hosts kept getting their noses in front at crucial stages.

The teams were level at 0-9 to 0-9 approaching the final quarter and it was 0-11 to 0-10 after 55 minutes but two late scores from the Cork side saw them advance to a Munster Final meeting with Mungret of Limerick.

We are so very proud of all our lads achievements over the course of the campaign. It just wasn’t to be last weekend. The season is still not over as the Mid Kerry Senior Football Championship Semi-Final will take place this weekend against Keel.

Mid Kerry Senior Football Championship: Semi-Final Fixture

Milltown/Castlemaine will meet Keel in the 2023 Mid Kerry Senior Football Championship Semi-Final on Sunday, December 3rd at 12 noon in the Paddy Burke Memorial Park, Milltown. All support is welcome.

U10 Girls:
Milltown/Castlemaine’s Under 10 Girls end-of-season medal ceremony took place recently with Kerry Senior Ladies and MKL Gaels Player Caoimhe Evans on hand as Guest of Honour to present the medals and greet the players at the fantastic club facilities in the social area at the Paddy Burke Memorial Park, Milltown.

Well done to all involved with the girls throughout the season – the fantastic team of coaches and supportive parents…it was a super year of fun football. We are already looking forward to 2024 🙂

Condolences:
All involved in Milltown/Castlemaine GAA would like to pass on our sincere condolences to the family of the late Jimmy Herlihy of Monastery Gardens, Milltown and formerly of Kiltallagh, Castlemaine.

Jimmy was a very well known and highly regarded gentleman in the community. Formerly a Milltown/Castlemaine Club Secretary, Jimmy was also involved with the Senior team as Manager and Selector around the late 1950s and early 1960s.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Jimmy’s  family and friends at this most difficult time.
